Capacity building & leadership training for Syrian civil society

The basic goal of our innovative project is to strengthen the capacities of Syrian civil society and to impart new skills.

The best 100 qualified participants will be trained in three stages by trainers to become multipliers in order to pass on the knowledge they have gained about civic engagement to committed volunteers in the future.

The training courses deal with the following topics, among others: leadership, human rights, social responsibility, good governance, human resources, critical thinking, institutional development and project management.

Started well – Arrived successfully

What is “Well started – Successfully arrived”?
The project offers initial orientation for Syrians from Turkey immigrating to Germany as part of family reunification.
The participants are prepared for the “German way of life” in intercultural online seminars and in individual consultations by professional trainers.
Together we reflect ideas and first steps for a successful everyday life in a foreign country and thus lay the foundation for a successful arrival.

The cooperation project Well Started – Successfully Arrived by the Turkish Community in Germany, the Federation of Turkish Parents’ Associations in Germany and the German-Syrian Association is funded by the Federal Government Commissioner for Migration, Refugees and Integration and the Federal Government Commissioner for Anti-Racism.

This commitment works!

We have been able to implement numerous activities as part of the vitamin P project in recent weeks.

In addition to the establishment of a German, math and computer club , there were also interesting events for individual career coaching and a workshop for voluntary refugee aid in times of Corona led by Ms. Anna Basse.

We would like to thank all speakers and trainers for the professional implementation!

Psychological online support for those affected by the Covid-19 virus

As part of the current GH project  Psychosocial support for those affected by the Covid-19 virus in Northwest Syria , we have been able to identify numerous developments over the past six months:

  • By June 2021, our psychologists had reached a total of 1,171 clients via our counseling hotline , whom they regularly looked after psychologically.
  • In addition, we have been able to  implement 66 training and supervision hours for selected psychologists in Syria. These seminars serve to promote the technical know-how of the participants and to exchange ideas with each other in six  dialogue forums.
  • Recently, the GH was able to network with other institutions in the region and publish various advertising and information materials (publications, videos, graphic illustrations) to draw more attention to the project.

We want to further expand these activities in the coming months in order to further strengthen the psychological sector in the region!

With your help and your zest for action , we will set an example against racism and for a strong social togetherness in the project !

In addition to the sponsorships, we have founded numerous learning clubs with a focus on math, German, English and computer/IT in order to be able to meet the high demand from our participants. These take place weekly – partly online and partly in person.

In addition, we regularly organize exciting information events, workshops and excursions .

Your support for orphans in Syria

For more than eight years we have been implementing an orphan project in Syria with full commitment. With your help, the association has already been able to provide numerous children with the essentials. But due to the catastrophic humanitarian emergency situation, the number of orphans there is increasing every day.

We therefore ask for your support: With your donation, you enable the orphans to lead a dignified life by means of urgently needed utensils – food, clothing, accommodation, health care and secure school attendance.

With your commitment, you support children, strengthen them mentally, give them security and well-being. Give hope to a young life and thereby contribute to its self-determination!

Save lives with only 30 euros/ month!

Glopal Help Opportunities Education sponsorships in the transition between school and work

The aim of the project is to enable young people and young adults to have a professional future. BiPa (educational sponsors), who pass on their knowledge, their professional and life experience, offer a great opportunity here . BiPa accompany their BiPaYoungster in the world of finding a job.

Task
A good school-leaving certificate largely determines how successful integration in the social environment and later in training and employment can be. Young people need a lot of attention, exchange, promotion of their talents and meaningful leisure activities for their professional development in school and personal areas. Communicating values and expressing wishes and visions for the future strengthens self-confidence. Suggestions, recognition and appreciation help young people to develop into responsible personalities. This increases the readiness for more education and the will to resolutely take one’s future life into one’s own hands.
Parents and teachers want only the best for all children. Given circumstances usually do not allow individual funding. Reliable support from educational sponsors can build bridges and be of great benefit to all parties.

Solution
Various sponsorships in the past have shown that people from different cultures improve their knowledge of German more quickly, feel accepted and have a more positive attitude towards their new home in Germany.
Adolescents from the age of 14 are exactly at the age at which decisions should be made for the further path in the future professional world. In order to enable these young people to have a professional future, educational sponsorships offer a great opportunity. The educational sponsorship relies heavily on the persuasiveness of neutral third parties and uses in particular the know-how and experience of older people. The BiPa becomes a person of trust and a coach for young people. A BiPa is placed with a BiPaYoungster individually according to skills, profession, interests and, of course, mutual sympathy. Listening, being available for your godparents and having a feeling for the problems, wishes and dreams of young people creates trust. The educational sponsors are not responsible for tutoring,

A BiPa has the opportunity to actively participate in the development and future prospects of a young person – a valuable experience!

Win-win – with your BiPa commitment you enrich our society!

Teaching does much, but encouragement does everything. – Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

The project “Vitamin P – Opportunity sponsorships in the transition between school and work” is part of the federal program “People strengthen people” and is funded by the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth.
